Program Options

 

The TCOC Head Start Program provides a variety of
programming options to meet the needs of our families.
Description of program options are:

 

Center-Based:

Part-Day/Part-Year (PD/PY CB):

· 3 1/2 hours/day; four days/week (Monday-Thursday),
school year (September-May)

 

Extended-Day/Part-Year (ED/PY CB):

· 7-8 hours/day; four or five days/week (Monday-
Thursday or Monday-Friday); school year
(September-May)

 

Full-Day/Full-Year (FD/FY CB):

· 11 hours/day (center open 6:30 a.m.—5:30 p.m.), five days/week (Monday-Friday); 12 months/year. Open to families working or in school on a full-time basis.

 

Child Care Collaborations (CC Coll.):

The TCOC Head Start Program has formal partnership agreements with one community child care centers to provide full-day/full-year services. Child Care Partner is:

· Sterling/Rock Falls Child Care Center, Sterling, Illinois

 

Home Based (HB):

The TCOC Head Start Program provides one area of home based services. In home base, the Parent/Child Educator (teacher) makes a weekly home visit (1 1/2 hours). To each enrolled child’s home. Parents are actively involved in each home visit. Children and their families enrolled in the home based option also attend two group socialization activities each month.
