Emergency Cooling Assistance
The Cooling Program provides a one-time payment of $150.00 paid to the electric company. The program is designed to assist those households that have a member 60 years of age or older, disabled, a child 36 months of age or younger or households that have a medical need for cooling. To apply please provide 30 days gross income for the household, social security cards for everyone in the household, a current electric bill in their name, Medicare and Medicaid cards (if they apply) and medical certification from physician (if applicable). The program runs from July 19th through July 30th or until funds are depleted.
The gross income for a household for 30 days prior to the date of application cannot exceed the following: 1 person household $ 1,354 2 person household $ 1,821 3 person household $ 2,289 4 person household $ 2,756 5 person household $ 3,224 6 person household $ 3,691 7 person household $ 4,159 8 person household $ 4,626
Applications will be taken on the days listed from 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. unless otherwise stated at the following sites:
