Energy Saving Measures The Illinois Home Weatherization Assistance Program operated by Tri-County provides over three hundred low-income households energy saving measures on a yearly basis. Weatherization is a direct grant to qualified households. Measures include, but are not limited to, insulation of attics, walls, and basements, repair or replacement of doors and windows, health and safety measures and furnace work. Health and safety measures include the installation of smoke detectors, fir extinguishers and CO detectors. Furnace work ranges from cleaning to repairs and replacement if a heating system cannot be made safe. Tri-County Weatherization crews and licensed furnace contractors do all work. |
