Transitional Housing The United States Department of Housing and Urban Development and the Illinois Department of Human Services provide for operating subsidies and funding for supportive services all of the transitional unites for homeless families. This is to say that homeless families pay only what they can afford. The goal of the transitional housing program is to transition homelessness families from homelessness and dependent living into regular housing and independent living. To accomplish this, extensive case management and supportive services are provided to each family. The extent and type of services provided is determined by a family needs analysis. |
